Perea Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games

Win or lose, Jesus Perea just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Tampa Bay Sunrays second baseman went 1-for-4, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 6-1, by the Montreal Mammoths at Mammoths Field.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him."
Jesus Perea flied out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
This year, Perea has 7 home runs and a .330 batting average.

Ross Set to Retire

Paul Ross said he's looking forward to getting home to Granite Bay, California to relax and unwind.
At age 37, the Dallas Jets player has announced he will retire at the end of the season.
"I'm thankful for my time in Federal Baseball League, but all good things must come to an end," he said.
In his career, Ross has made 398 relief appearances and converted 82 saves. His record stands at 27-and-25 with a 2.16 ERA.
