The Miami Makos went into extra innings against the Tampa Bay Sunrays but ultimately moved to within one game of the Conference Championship. The Makos downed the Sunrays at Sunrays Field by a score of 8-4. Miami second baseman Ron Blumberg had an impact on the outcome. He went 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The win gives the Makos a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Blumberg delivered big-time for Miami, stroking a dramatic grand slam home run off Danny Copeland. The game-changing hit put the Makos on top, 8-4.

"We don't have much margin for error now," Sunrays manager David Fields said. "We need to figure out the problem and fix it, immediately."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Friday, August 9th , 2052.
