5-4 Loss Extends Seattle Skid
|
Logan Castleberry had a good game, but he could not keep the Seattle Pilots from falling, 5-4, to the San Francisco Pioneers at Pioneers Park. The Seattle second baseman went 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice in the loss. David Slifka closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 2nd save of the year. Seattle is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
In the bottom of the seventh, San Francisco left fielder Guadalupe Mejia gave his team the lead. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Foxy Grandpa hit his 9th double of the year. Seattle pitcher Ijaz Mirza surrendered it. With that, the Pioneers jumped in front, 5-4.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said San Francisco manager David Fields.
