McCoy Cracks 3 HRs for Rutledge Wednesday, April 28th , 2055 Anthony McCoy added his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against the Canton Legends. But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The Rutledge Gold Miners fell to the Legends, 11-9. In his big day at Devils Park, the Rutledge left fielder went 4-for-5 with 6 RBIs and scored 3 times. "It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day." Anthony McCoy singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jonathan Howard in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Luna in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Kyle Simons in the 11th. Looking at his season stats, McCoy has compiled a .305 batting average and a .400 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 15 runs. |
