Searle's Season Could be Over
Saturday, June 15th , 2052
The doctors have spoken and Jim Searle of the Vancouver Orcas didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Searle sustained his season-ending injury during the Wasilla Warriors game yesterday at Flyers Grounds. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Vancouver medical staff reported Searle had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months.
Up to now Searle has compiled an ERA of 4.66 with a 5-4 mark over 15 starts. He has 61 strikeouts in 75.1 innings and has held opponents to a .285 batting average.
