Cardona Homers 3 Times Against Portland Tuesday, May 4th , 2055 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Alberto Cardona can celebrate. The Pachuca Pirates catcher powered three into the stands at Honu Park against the Portland Bruins. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Cardona told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-5 as the Pirates toppled Portland by a score of 8-4, knocking in 6 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Pachuca manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Alberto Cardona hit a solo-shot off Eric Forest in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Eric Forest in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jason Jourdan in the 8th. So far this year, Cardona is batting .361 with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored. |
