Chamberland Whacks 3 Out of the Park for Portland Friday, May 31st , 2052 Every now and then, everything just comes together. Rusty Chamberland discovered that today at Ballpark of Portland, as he smashed three home runs during the 14-2 Portland Bruins win over the Edmonton Riverhawks. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Portland catcher said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Chamberland finished the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats and 9 RBIs. Rusty Chamberland singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Tony Montes in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Danny Zavaleta in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Chris Adams in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. For the season, Chamberland is currently batting .238 with 4 home runs and 25 RBIs. In 39 games he has reached base at a .292 rate and scored 11 runs to date. |
