Season May Be Over for Buzz Leduc

Éric Leduc is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the Hampton Township organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 8 months with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. The 21-year-old starting pitcher suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Mesa Hawkeyes.

Hernandez Makes it Official, Will Retire

The Honolulu Makos will have to find a new first baseman next year as veteran Felix Hernandez is set to retire at the end of the 2050 campaign.
Hernandez, age 36, is ready for retirement. "Time takes its toll on this old body. I can't do it as well as I want anymore. It's time to hang up the spikes and make way for a younger guy."
In a career spanning 110 games, Hernandez has batted .196 with 70 hits, 7 home runs, 27 RBIs, and 26 runs scored.

Linkletter Blasts 3 into Bleachers

Adam Linkletter brutalized the Hampton Township Buzz pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 8-7 Chihuahua victory at Red Aces Grounds. The Chihuahua Cartels second baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 4-for-5 with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
"Too much Adam Linkletter today," Buzz manager said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Adam Linkletter hit a solo-shot off Danny Elizondo in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Danny Elizondo in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Chris St. Cyr in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
This season, Linkletter has hit 3 home runs and posted a .440 batting average.
