3-HR Binge for Sutton Against Guadalupe College Friday, April 15th , 2050 San Antonio College Loggerheads first baseman Jimmy Sutton almost did it all. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 3 times and drove in 3 runs and had 3 hits in 4 at-bats. The one thing he could not do, however, was lead the Loggerheads to victory. The Guadalupe College Badlanders escaped with the win, 14-4, despite being on the receiving end of the barrage from Sutton. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game. Jimmy Sutton struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Francisco Romero in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Francisco Romero in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Ed Martinez in the 8th. "When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win," said San Antonio College manager . "We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the Conference 2. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good FBL College hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a good hack at it." In his season totals Sutton has 23 home runs and a .333 batting average. |
