Gems End Contreraz Streak Saturday, April 9th , 2050 It was a doubly miserable day for Antonio Contreraz of the Zapopan College Golden Panthers, as he saw his 21-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 4-3, to the Cleveland College Gems at Golden Panthers Park. The 20-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Gems. "Anyone on a 21-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Cleveland College manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." To date this season, Contreraz is hitting .444 with 4 home runs. |
