Perez Grabs SL1 Reliever of the Year Award Tuesday, June 4th , 2052 Juan Perez was a calming influence out of the León College Magicians bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 19-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Conference 1 Reliever of the Year Award for 2052. The Mexico City, Mexico native won the award with 8 saves in 18 relief appearances, 12 strikeouts in 19.2 innings and a record of 0-1 to go with his 0.92 ERA. He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jesse Murphy of the Milwaukee College Diamond Dawgs finished second in voting, while Jose Vera of the Camagüey College Bluebirds finished third.
