Ortiz on Fire: 5-for-6 for Puebla College Wednesday, April 20th , 2050 The San Miguelito College Thunder Cats downed the Puebla College Sluggers, 6-5, at Thunder Cats Grounds, in spite of the best efforts of Puebla College right fielder Tomas Ortiz. Ortiz lashed the ball all over the park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with a 5-for-6 line -- and a loss. "I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," he said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter." Asked if he would adjust his strategy next time the Thunder Cats face Ortiz, San Miguelito College manager said "absolutely not." "Our strategy was to not give him good pitches to hit," he said. "We didn't do that, and he worked us over. Thankfully, we won anyway, and next time we'll pitch to him better." Tomas Ortiz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 10th. This season, Ortiz is hitting at a .281 pace with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs and has scored 22 times. |
