Philadelphia, San Francisco Close Deal Monday, May 10th , 2055 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Philadelphia and San Francisco have made a swap with 31-year old 3B Francisco Macias being shipped to the Pioneers and in return the Fury would get 19-year old minor league LF Kevin Rebolledo. Philadelphia general manager David Fields said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Philadelphia organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. This year, Macias is hitting .338 with 5 home runs and 15 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .423 clip and scored 23 runs. |
