Pilots Beaten By Luchadors, 5-4
|
The San Diego Luchadors picked up a win at Pilots Park, downing the Seattle Pilots, 5-4. On the mound for San Diego was left-hander Dennis Tabor, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tabor yielded 3 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-4. The save went to Brian Tanner, number 8 for him.
Darnell McRae had a big 2-run home run for the Luchadors in the top of the third inning. With San Diego leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Estevan Dilone and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Luchadors on top, 4-1.
"I liked his command," said San Diego manager David Fields. "Dennis was throwing strikes."
With this game in the books, San Diego is 13-15, Seattle 9-19.
