The Leon Toltecs rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Alex Castelan to a win, beating the Mexico City Marauders , 7-0, at Toltecs Field. Castelan, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Mexico City, at 6-15, is off to a poor start in 2050.

Jose Gomez, who finished 3rd in the UL in extra base hits with 61 last year, took Mexico City hurler Leo Partridge deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Toltecs on top, 2-0. In all, Gomez had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.

Castelan expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
