Robbers Suffer 9-4 Road Loss
|
The Montreal Mammoths defeated the Toronto Robbers, 9-4, in Independent action at Mammoths Field. Montreal pitcher Dave Parsons had a standout performance. The win leaves Montreal with a record of 2-8.
Bob Evans had a big bases-clearing triple for the Mammoths in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Montreal leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Billy Terrell, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2044 draft, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mammoths ahead, 5-1.
"Dave was throwing strikes, locating well," said Montreal manager David Fields.
