Late Rally Earns Boston 8-5 Win
|
Bobby Ramirez made an impact in the 8-5 Boston win over Detroit. Ramirez, who finished 5th in the IL in runs with 74 in 2048, went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The second-place Kings sport a record of 34-38.
Boston used a timely hit from Pat Howells to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Kings ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
In postgame comments to the Boston Citizen, Howells said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
