The Jacksonville Jackals topped the New York Empire, 7-1, in Independent action at Jackals Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Jacksonville pitcher and Ocós, Guatemala, native Luis Vega. The winner was Vega. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Alex Ramirez. Jacksonville has a record of 32-33, placing them third in the Independent South.
