The Toronto Robbers defeated the New York Empire, 6-5, at Mounties Park. Toronto was led by former first round draft pick Bill Brown, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3. The winner was Toronto reliever Armando Lopez, now 3-0. The loser was Alex Ramirez. The Robbers now have a record of 36-23.
Armando Duran drove in one run for Toronto. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Manny Tellado. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Toronto manager David Fields.
