Alvarado Booms 200th Homer
|
Miami Makos slugging third baseman Erick Alvarado swatted his way to the 200 home run mark today as the Makos fell to the New York 4-3.
For his part, Alvarado chipped in 1 run batted in, scored 1 run and collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats, but it was not enough to turn the tide.
"It was a special day for Erick," the team publicist said afterward. "He was disappointed at the result, but everyone was all smiles as he crossed home plate. We're proud of him."
Alvarado has a lifetime .287 batting average and .343 on-base percentage in his 1117-game career with 1233 hits and 200 home runs.
