Hawks Get Past New York, 3-2
|
The Chicago Hawks picked up a win at Empire Ballpark, courtesy of Carlos Becerra. The right-hander helped his team stop the New York Empire, 3-2. Justin Greer closed it out for Chicago, earning his 11th save. Chicago has an impressive 19-8 record.
Chicago won the game in part because of Luis Puentes. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 3-2. For the game, Puentes had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Becerra.
