Fury Come Up Short at Chicago, 8-7
|
Philadelphia center fielder Chris Larkin was sensational. He went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Chicago beat the Fury, 8-7. Thomas Hau was the winner. He's now 4-1. The loser was Chris Books. Nick Nemeth closed out the game, earning his 7th save.
Luis Hernandez, who finished 5th in the IL in wins above replacement with 4.6 in 2044, contributed to the Chicago win with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Hernandez, "and then get after it again."
With the win, Chicago upped its record to 14-9.
