Toltecs Earn Late Win
|
The Leon Toltecs faced a tough opponent in San Diego pitcher Danny Nuno, but still scratched out a win at Toltecs Field by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Nuno went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win went to Al Reyes in relief, making him now 2-1. Lorenzo Corpus took the loss for San Diego. With the victory, the Toltecs upped their record to 39-27.
The Toltecs got a clutch hit from catcher Rich Young. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Toltecs.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Young told reporters after the game.
