6-Hit Game for Russ Friday, April 15th , 2050 The Counts whipped the Destroyers, 22-3, at Brooklyn College Stadium and John Russ had a big hand in the win. The Counts first baseman came to the plate 6 times and collected 6 hits. It was a good day for Russ and a tough day for Brooklyn College. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Russ delivered -- 6-for-6 is outstanding in any league. John Russ hit a solo-shot off John Edwards in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Mark Donnelly in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This season, Russ has hit at a .351 clip and produced 34 RBI, 13 home runs and 43 runs. |
