Long Tags Skeeters for 5 Hits Wednesday, April 13th , 2050 Jamie Long of the Counts was unstoppable in his team's 17-11 victory over the Mexico City College Skeeters at Philadelphia College Grounds. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Philadelphia College shortstop after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will." Jamie Long hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Guadalupe Garcia in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Marcos Melendez in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Enrique Diaz in the 8th. So far this year, Long is hitting .342 with 11 home runs. |
