"I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I have always liked to hit at Philadelphia College Grounds." For the day, Long collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats, scored 4 runs and had 5 RBIs. "He was instant offense today," Philadelphia College skipper said. "Jamie really put on a show." Jamie Long hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Guadalupe Garcia in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Marcos Melendez in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Enrique Diaz in the 8th. In 40 games Long is hitting .342 this season with 51 hits, 11 home runs, 38 RBIs, 24 walks, .438 OBP and has scored 31 runs. |
