Hits Galore: de Anda Drills 5 Hits Wednesday, April 13th , 2050 Marcos de Anda was sizzling at the plate. The Mexico City College third baseman blistered the Philadelphia College Counts for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to defeat, 17-11. "de Anda was too tough to get out today," Counts skipper said in a postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win." Marcos de Anda singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and singled in the 7th. For the year, de Anda is hitting .342 with 6 home runs. His stats include 19 runs batted in and 43 runs scored. |
