Hit Streak Over, Counts Stop Griego Friday, April 22nd , 2050 The streak has been snapped. Andres Griego failed to get a hit in today's game against the Philadelphia College Counts, bringing his 20-game hitting spree to an end. The 18-year-old Cancún College first baseman was 0-for-4, but the Bucs got the win and defeated the Counts, 5-3. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Griego said. "I got to 20 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" In the current season, Griego has put up a .372 batting average with 67 hits, 19 home runs, 50 runs batted in and scored 42 runs. |
