Smith Hitless, Stopped by River Bats Wednesday, April 20th , 2050 The 20-game hitting streak is over. Washington College Coyotes second baseman Rob Smith failed to get a hit against the Chicago College River Bats and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 18-year-old went 0-for-3 in his club's 15-5 victory over the River Bats at River Bats Stadium. "I think I only made it to 20 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." Thus far this year, Smith has hit .338 with 23 home runs and 58 RBIs. |
