Hit Streak Now at 25 for Gillespie Sunday, April 10th , 2050 The Jacksonville HS Tomahawks stopped the Ecatepec HS Seawolves, 9-6, and Zach Gillespie collected a base hit yet again. The Jacksonville HS first baseman finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Gillespie told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Zach Gillespie was hit by a pitch in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. For the year, Gillespie is batting .447 with 23 home runs. |
